I bought this book because it looked like the same cover as the on my mom used to have. Now that my husband and I are expecting our first child, I wanted to have the same book to look through when finding the perfect name for our baby. Unfortunately, though it is much the same, this book is much smaller than the one I was expecting. Mom's book was a couple of inches thick and had a lot of appendices and extra information. This one is probably 1/4-1/2 inch thick. It does have some additional articles/information, such as a list of celebrity children's names, famous pseudonyms, odd and unusual names, popular names lists, etc., and I don't have the other book to compare to directly, but I don't believe it could possibly have fit all of the information from the other edition we had into this much smaller book.On the positive side, it does have a good selection of names with origins and meanings. We have enjoyed looking through and trying different ones on for size. Overall, this is a decent baby name book- just not quite the one I was expecting/looking for.

I was loaned a really old edition of this book and decided to get what I assumed was the updated version. It's brand new, but it's a reprint of the last update, which was in 1984 - the same year as the one I already have (and from before I was even born!). I wish I had looked at the copyright date before I ordered.

Bought this as a baby shower gift and the recipient loved it...more than the gift card I gave her. :-)

Not as comprehensive a name book as I'd hoped. Certainly not the best name book in the whole, wide world. The price was certainly right though.

I liked the origin section of the names but not really anything new.

This book is entertaining, but we didn't end up finding the name for our baby using this book.

Old names. Matilda? Helga? Come on. 1 page blank. Missing page 32.

I had purchased 'So, You Want to Be a Physician' for my child when she started applying to medical schools. She was successful in getting admission to medical school with the material and guidance given in the book. Pre-medical students carry an inordinate amount of academic load to meet the medschool course prerequisites. The extra curricular activities place even greater demand on their time. The application process itself can be the proverbial 'last straw that breaks the camel's back.' The book offers focused, relevant information thus making it easier for the students to separate the essentials from nice-to-have and effectively manage the application process.

As a college freshman I recommend this book to any young college student or high school student considering medical school. The author gives advice on what actions a student can take to maximize their med school application’s attraction to an admissions officer. This guide will encourage any prospective student to laser in on exactly on what medical schools want to see, without being “distracted” by other parts of a college experience. In addition to advice on what type of college might be best, what type of classes to take, the book also gives good insight into what extracurriculars the student should spend their time on; what would be most helpful in putting down on your application’s personal statement and what could be helpful to talk about in your interviews. This book is your standard size of most manga, not a tall book but a nice lengthy one.Really cute and captures the charm of the show. It is slightly offputting how short some of the stories are compared to their adaption to the anime but no complaints really.The print is a bit dark but all in all, a solid manga and worth it for fans.

My daughter liked everything about this manga book. She likes the show so it wasn't surprising that she would like this book. She said that it's funny and entertaining and would like to purchase the other volumes.

It is very cute and detailed. I already had the Japanese version of volume 1 and it is a great replica of its quality. I love Umaru-chan!

This was a great read! The book felt very lengthy, which is great considering its size. I enjoyed seeing the different art style and the series is just as good as I remember.

Onii-chan had to work late and TOTALLY forgot to get me the latest copy of Young Jump. So I rolled around on the floor and cried until he gave me this. I'm not familiar with this "Umaru", but she seems pretty great. I think we would get along well.

Gift for my daughter, apparently she liked it.

Funny story about a funny girl.

I enjoyed watching the anime, but when I heard it’s manga was coming out with own copy I didn’t hesitate. I would recommend this manga and the anime too.
