helpful and easy to read for all ages. Nice to have books like these for kids who have skills or tools that they are seeking.
I'm not sure if most teens will actually pick up this book but if the parent reads it and then re-reads portions aloud to teen, maybe some of it will get through.
I bought this book for my 13 year old son..we started out reading it together, but he took it up to his room and read the rest by himself.I think that is a testament in itself....this is a helpful and relevant book!!
This book is very well written and set out. The intermittent quotes keep it light and appealing to both myself and my 10 year old. It does cover many areas well - but does not feel like a text book. Easy read, informative and enjoyable. Came highly recommended to me by a clinical psychiatrist that who specialises in children with aspergers and ASD. It will be a well used reference books I am sure!
My teen did not enjoy reading this book. I think it was a flop.
Really helpful book in explaining the basics to being A good friend and making some. Not all kids have this skill naturally, so it's great that this book is a small and simple enough read. It is interesting, uses hypothetical scenarios that are age appropriate for 6th grade- probably 8th and holds the readers interest. Honest and genuine, makes sense. Works best if reader understands that all of us have strengths and weaknesses and we all work to grow stronger, build better character within ourself.
This book is a great resource for adults working with young people who could use some assistance in developing healthy relationships. It includes a lot of good common sense concepts and is written in an easy to read style. I wouldn't expect a lot of teens to read it themselves (although some might) but if you can deliver the content to them via small group discussion or one on one counseling it can have a great impact.
Great book for any age group above 10 years old. Solid advice although a little wordy. I copied summary pages to get my teen interested in reading the book.
