We bought this as a give for my teenage daughter and I am giving it 5 stars based on her reaction. She had read a couple of these graphic novels from the library but could not get more and wanted to read them. She opened this at our family Christmas party and next time we saw her, she was sitting in a corner reading it!
I love these characters and the craziness they seem to attract. Art is amazing of course. A whole lot of Girl Power without slowing down the story. Highly recommend for anyone!
The illustrations, story line and characters are so cool. We could read this again and again. We love LumberJanes!

The change from the original art style in the first story arc of the book was a little jarring. I think more so since I just read 400 pages of the same exact art style and became more easily accustomed to it, instead of going chapter by chapter month by month [which is a long enough time that a change like that won't feel weird as much as it did this way]. I do really like the small mysteries being solved as we all try to unravel what this summer camp is all about; I have my theories and I'm eager to science them out.The way these kids are handling hardships and problems and just growing closer to each other is beautiful and I can't imagine a world where this story stops.
Lumberjanes is everything that I want in a book and the more I read them the happier I become. I have been saving reading Lumberjanes until I could enjoy it perfectly, but I actually decided to read it one day when I was so stressed I could not do anything. So I sat down and read this and felt a lot better. This book again follows Mal, Molly, Jo, April, and Ripley as they go on more magical adventures and learn just how little they actually know about what’s in the woods.
These comics never disappoint and I'm left feeling so inspired and excited after reading them. This special edition has so much wonderful art to look through at the end, including all the cover variations.
