Couldn't put it down. Finished it in 2 sittings. Everything about him is addicting. The book goes deep into his past, which was so interesting and concludes with his death. I learned so much about him, personally...and learning the meaning behind some of Queens biggest hits was so cool. I highly recommend it.
This book gives you a look inside Queen, how the guys met and formed the group, their albums, concerts and tours, what inspired some of their songs and such. I didn't find much I wasn't already aware of except a more intimate look at Freddie's last years.I don't believe there will be another to equal Freddie Mercury. He was unique, his voice, his looks and dress, his stage presence, his showmanship. He was a bit arrogant in whatever he did. His attitude toward money apparently was "I didn't have it but now I have it." He shared his incredible talent with the world and I for one am better for it.When you consider the combined talent and intelligence when Queen took the stage, it boggles the mind. Brian May is now an astrophysicist; he put his education on hold to join Queen and share great music with the world. John Deacon and Roger Taylor also put their lives, careers and education on hold, and together they were phenomenal.4
What an awesome book! This is a great coffee table book to have in my den where I have autographed albums and photos on display. It has that vibe like Freddie is still here! In a way, he is!
After seeing the movie, I wanted to read more about the fabulous, enigmatic Freddie. This book is a great first look at the man - lots of pictures. A friend of mine wanted to check it out and I am afraid I will never get it back. So, I ordered another one. It is an oversized "cocktail table" book. Really enjoyed looking through this, as I am sure I will for years to come. Highly recommend.
I've read plenty of books about Queen and Freddie, and this book presents plenty of information and details not covered in those books, as well as beautiful photos I had not seen before. A must for any Queen fan.
One of my favorite books on Freddie Mercury. It has so many wonderful pictures of Freddie and give so many excellent stories of his like from his childhood in Zanzibar to hid untimely death. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Freddie Mercury and/or Queen.
Definitely learned quite a bit about Freddie (Queen) , the book is a easy read but the number of pages are deceiving. 35 or so are quotes, time lines and discography. As a huge fan, I enjoyed the book
I was a bit disappointed in this book, only because it only repeated the information that has been written in other books, including a book Mr. Blake had written years ago. There are no new photos that haven't been already seen either. If you have read all the other books, there is no big rush to go out and purchase this one.
